Annual Meeting is June 2-4, it overlaps with Northern Tier.

CI Advisory survey. We asked about what services that GPN could provide. Sharing computational facilities or data storage is on the list. Not on the list are things about facilitating sharing of information.

Another item not on the list is an online searchable knowledge base.

Storing and archiving data will be a bigger problem in the future.

An entity to help us collaborate more, for example, some kind of teleconference thing or access grid. Review of tools available. Coordinating on grant requests.

How do we bring in I2 resrouces for teaching? There isn't a clearinghouse of information about that.

Need to allow free form responses on the next round of the survey as well.

MU: Administration is listening to the research community. There is value to having research computing. Gordon is getting one more staff member.

KSU: Everything is on hold waiting for the new CIO. Still working on the cybercommons between KS and OK.

NE: Getting labs ready for Condor, getting another staff member to help with that, lookinf for funding for firefly, Matlab, Mathmatica. Looking for ways to cut costs for Matlab and Mathmatica. The med center is looking for some partnerships to provide super computing for bioinformaticists. Research chancellor is trying to figure out what to do about CI.

ND: had a video conference with Open Science Grid and NE. DUESEL is coming up. Hiring a CIO, putting together a CI committee, and Claude is on it. Next Wednesday at 9am there will be a video conference broadcast at I2.
