Visiting Scholar Program

The Visiting Scholar Program enables doctoral-level students at any participating GPN university to take advantage of educational opportunities--specialized courses, unique computational facilities, unusual laboratories--at any other GPN university without change in registration or increase in tuition. The focus of this program is the integration of computer science with other domain sciences. Example areas of emphasis might include

  • Informatics (e.g., bioinformatics)
  • Computation (e.g., computational chemistry)
  • High performance physics
  • Advanced visualization (e.g., hydrology, weather, meteorology)
  • Data mining (e.g., medical data)

Please keep in mind that new areas are emerging and scholars seeking to unite new fields of study with computer science, computation and/or advanced networking are encouraged.

The GPN Visiting Scholar program allows study for up to two semesters or three quarters at another GPN member campus.
